Hi Folks, “Steve The Hurricane” here in Manalapan, New Jersey with this week’s episode of A Drink with the Hurricane. I woke up this morning and I am obviously very excited about the Hurricane Marketing Enterprises Boot Camp. I want to share the day with you. The boot camp is going to have a bunch of different things. We are going to talk about sales and marketing on the first day.
We are going to talk about operations in your business on the second day. And on the third day we are going to talk about life, leadership, happiness and being an entrepreneur as well as, being fulfilled. That is going to be the most powerful part of the entire boot camp.
Today, this morning October 4, 2017. I woke up and I was in a little bit of a funk because my football team, New York Giants played a football game and they were terrible. They lost and their record is 0-4 and I started complaining about it. Well, I do my morning routine. I read my scriptures then I go downstairs to give my wife my children a hug. They got up for me and I turn on the television and what do I see on TV? I see a mass shooting at a concert. I see 50 plus people dead. I see hundreds of people injured. But, it helped me to put things into perspective and realize that I shouldn’t be worried about stupid football game because life is way more important than that. So, I dropped my daughter off at preschool which happens to be the place right where my church of worship is. I am there every single Sunday. I had left my water bottle at the church. So, I walked over to Sanctuary to get my water bottle. I think to myself, “you know what?” I’m in God’s house. I will take a moment and pray. And so, I did just that. And when I prayed, I prayed for every single one of us. I prayed for humanity. I prayed for our country and all the awful things that are going on. And I was given a message, and the message was, appreciation.
I have air in my lungs and a roof over my head. I have a beautiful, loving wife. I have three healthy, beautiful, strong, happy, wonderful children. I have a thriving business that’s growing. We’re in the top 5 percent of all small businesses in the United States. I have hundreds of clients and thousands of people that I have trained all across the country and internationally. I have so much to be grateful for. So just be appreciative. And, I give all glory to God. Now, for you my brothers and sisters in home care, “Steve the Hurricane” is telling you to “rise up”. I’m telling you to stop complaining about things we don’t have. I’m telling you to stop worrying about where the business is going to come from or where you are going to get caregivers, and trust in yourself.
Have faith that you’re going to be able to find a way to overcome. You know you do well in this business you provide the very best quality care that you can for your patients.
If you do well for your patients, it will filter through to your caregivers. It will filter through to your staff and your organization. And it all comes from you as the leader of your organization. You are a leader. We together are leaders.
I am going to talk about the movement for a moment. I was at a conference last week where I talked about the movement that we started here at Hurricane Marketing Enterprises over five years ago. The movement of elevating our care and the care that we’re providing as an industry so we can rightfully have a place at the table with other health care providers. During that five plus years’ time, we started The Institute for Dignity and Grace. We have a book coming out on home care called, “Why We Care: How to Choose an Agency”. This is coming out online a week and a half and it’s already an Amazon bestseller.
“Rising Tide Lifts All Boats” be part of the movement. Rise up and take your place in the health care arena. No more excuses. No more games.
Make it happen. Because every day that passes, is another day that’s wasted. I’m going to share something with you. This is what my pastor said yesterday. It is actually Old Testament. So, this is for every single person out there. Chapter 5 verse 19, and it reads. Everyone also to whom God is given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them and to accept his love and rejoice in his soul. This is the gift of God.
No faith but what we can make. You can do it. He gave you a good brain. He gave you a caring heart. He gave you a body that you take care of. And gave you an unbreakable spirit Lead forward. Lead by example. Rise up, and I will see you November ninth, tenth and eleventh at the Home Care Millionaires Boot Camp where I promise give you everything you need to “Blow Away the Competition!”
