Hi folks,
As you all know, the Holidays will be here before we know it! It’s easy to get wrapped up in the holiday season, attending parties, decorating our homes, and finding the perfect gifts for our friends and family. This season brings a great opportunity for you as a business owner to maximize your return investment when giving holiday gifts to your referral sources.
Take the time to show your referral sources that you appreciate their business this holiday season with a simple gift. No matter how big or small the gift may be this will warm the hearts of these people who refer you.
First, it is important to find out if you are allowed to give gifts to your referral sources. Many accounts are not allowed to receive gifts, however there is another way to show your appreciation towards them. If someone is not allowed to receive a gift, give a donation or a gift to charity on their behalf. This will show that you have taken the time to think about them this holiday season and will strengthen you business relationship with them. If possible, find a charity that supports something they are passionate about.
If your accounts ARE able to receive gifts, it is important to follow this 3-tier approach to maximize your return invested when it comes to holiday gift giving.
- Your “A” accounts are those you get the most referrals from. These accounts you should spend a considerable amount of money on a gift. I would recommend spending over $100 if possible. These can be personalized too! You can give small gifts that total $100 to multiple people at the accounts
- For your “B” accounts, you should aim to spend anywhere between $50-100 for a holiday gift. I recommend giving your “B” accounts gift cards for a dinner and a movie or a donation to their holiday party.
- Your “C” accounts, are those who you don’t get as many referral from. You should spend about $15-20 in value, and give them promotions gift. I used to give out ice scrappers with my company’s logo on it and it was a huge hit. Make sure this promo items useful that each person will want to have it.
The purpose of holiday gift giving is to get you and your company remembered. By giving gifts to each of your referrals sources, you are going a step beyond what is expected, and that my friends, IS HOW YOU SEPARATE YOURSELF FROM THE COMPETITION.
